Pet Names

 

 

There is an overabundance of black and white mammals named "Oreo" or "Panda". This bothers me so much. There are a million better names, more pun-full and/or creative than these. Hell even "Cow" is better and it is still an obvious thing to call a black and white animal. Just don't do it. Be better than that.

And just far far too many animals are named "Cocoa". Hells Bells, once I got a hermit crab from a person who had named it "Cocoa"! It was a CRUSTACEAN, people, c'mon! Anyway, it got a better name than that after. The other one I got from that person was named "Buddy", which is just fine for any shelled animal, less okay for certain mammls (but not bad) and great for birds and bovines.

On the same hand, it is totally okay to name non-color matching animals after such things. Just not "Cocoa". Never "Cocoa". Not any spelling variation of it either!

 



Mouse in Mitten

Mice love to snuggle. They don't always let on. Parker the mouse was never shy in showing her love, or at coming when I called her. Here are some pictures of her snuggling in a glove. She was kind enough not to poop in it, as a different pet mouse pooped in my slipper.

 

 



Parker is no longer with me. She did not survive the adventure she had when she escaped her cage on day. :(

She was the friendliest mouse ever, and she is missed.

 

You can't tell here, but she had a little brown bottom. It looked like she was wearing cowboy chaps.

 

 

Rats in Sweaters

People like to dress up their dogs and cats. Smaller mammals, however, tend to be squirmy enough that it makes putting things on them somewhat difficult. It really depends on the personality of the animal.

 

Ivan the rat

 

 

I cut off the toe of a little sock a cut a slit for their arms, making a cute turtleneck. Emmett is used to being swaddled so it was no deal putting it on him. He had trouble walking though so I pulled it off. Then Ivan, who is a ham, took it like a man-rat and wore that sweater for a full few minutes!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Unsolicited Fact

  I have body pillows on both ends of my bed so when I decide to sleep with my head in the other direction I don't have to move everything with me.

The Desk I Would Art On

I have always dreamt of having a freakin' huge desk. I would art all over that thing. of course, I would need a space to put it. but I can still dream, yeah? anyway, craigslist is ever poking at my wistfulness. I found a  beau of a desk, and looks an awful lot like my current one (because I have trouble with that kind of change. and it would match my other furniture.) it says "3 ft deep, 6 feet wide, and 30 in tall." in the description. sigh. not only would I art on it, I would put a fish tank, a mouse cage, and a ton of books on it and still have room to sleep on top of it!
